REAR FOG LIGHT

Purpose
• The rear fog light enhances the visibility of the vehicle from vehicle rear during poor weather conditions such as rain and fog.
Functions
• When the rear body control module (RBCM) receives a rear fog light on request signal sent via CAN communication from the front body control module (FBCM), it turns the rear fog light on.
Structure/Construction
• The rear fog light is located on the rear bumper.
Operation
1. When all of the following conditions are met, the start stop unit detects (1) the rear fog light signal.

― Ignition switched ON (engine on)
― Headlights or the front fog lights are illuminated
― Fog light switch position: R.FOG
2. The start stop unit sends (2) the rear fog light signal to the front body control module (FBCM) via CAN communication.
3. When the front body control module (FBCM) receives the rear fog light signal, it sends (3) a rear fog light on request signal to the rear body control module (RBCM) via the instrument cluster.
4. When the rear body control module (RBCM) receives the rear fog light on request signal, it turns the rear fog light on (4).
