FRONT MAP LIGHT

Purpose

• The front map lights shine light at the front of the vehicle interior.

Function

• The rear body control module (RBCM) detects the on/off of the front map light switch and controls the on/off of the rear map light.

• Illuminates according to the lock condition of the driver's door and open/close conditions of the doors under the rear body control module (RBCM) control when the room light switch is in the DOOR position. (Bulb type)

• Illuminates according to the lock condition of the driver's door and open/close conditions of the doors under the rear body control module (RBCM) control when the interior light door open interlock switch is on. (LED type)

Construction

• A bulb type or LED type is available for the front map lights.

• The front map lights which are integrated with the sunglass holder have been adopted.

• The front map light is positioned in the front part of the headliner.

• The console ambient light is positioned in the front map light. (With console ambient light)

Operation

Note

• When the rear body control module (RBCM) receives a lock signal on the remote transmitter with the ignition switched off and all doors/ trunk lid closed, it automatically turns the front map light off.

Bulb type

Front map light switch operation

1. When the front map light switch is on (1), the front map light turns on (2).

Room light switch operation (ON position)

1. When the room light switch is in the ON position (1), the front map lights turn on (2).

Room light switch operation (DOOR position)

1. When any door is opened (1), the rear body control module (RBCM) detects (2) a door open signal.

2. When the rear body control module (RBCM) detects the door open signal, it turns the transistor on (3).

3. When the transistor is on with the room light switch at the DOOR position (4), the front map lights turn on (5).

Note

• When the room light switch is in the DOOR position, the room light control system controls the timing for turning the front map light on and off. For details, refer to the [ROOM LIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM]. (See ROOM LIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM.)

Interior light door open interlock switch operation

1. When any door is opened (1), the rear body control module (RBCM) detects (2) a door open signal.

2. When the rear body control module (RBCM) detects the door open signal, it turns the transistor on (3).

3. When the transistor is on with the interior light door open interlock switch on (4), the front map lights turn on (5).
