Purpose

• Relays and fuses used by each system are grouped and housed together to the relay and fuse block for smooth inspection and replacement servicing.

Function

• The relay and fuse block groups and houses together the relays and fuses.

Structure/Construction

• The relay and fuse block is located in the engine compartment.

Operation

Relay operation

1. When electric current flows (1) to the coil, electromagnetic power is generated.

2. The contact point is attracted by the generated electromagnetic power and switches on (2).

3. When the contact point switches on, electric current flows (3) to each part downstream of the relay.

Fuse operation

1. When electric current of the specified value or more flows to a fuse, the fuse generates heat and blows (1).

Note

• The time until a fuse blows depends on the amount of electrical current.

2. If a fuse is blown, electric current flowing to each part downstream of the fuse is interrupted (2).
