DC-DC CONVERTER (i-ELOOP) [i-ELOOP]

id131704503000

Purpose, Function

•  To supply the power generated by the generator to the vehicle’s electrical devices, the DC-DC converter (i-ELOOP) performs control according to the engine operation conditions.
•  To prevent electrical circuit failure, part over-heating, or ignition due to large amounts of current, if the power supplied from the capacitor (i-ELOOP) exceeds the rated voltage of the vehicle’s electrical devices, power cannot be supplied directly to the vehicle’s electrical devices. As a result, the DC-DC converter (i-ELOOP) lowers the maximum 24.3 V voltage to 12 V, and then supplies power to the vehicle’s electrical devices.

Construction

•  The DC-DC converter (i-ELOOP) is located in the engine compartment (vehicle front side).

•  The DC-DC converter (i-ELOOP) has the following inputs/outputs.

•  The DC-DC converter (i-ELOOP) switches the operation content according to the vehicle conditions. Refer to the [i-ELOOP] for details. (See i-ELOOP [i-ELOOP].)

DTC

Fail-safe

P0A8D:00
•  Inhibits engine-stop by operating the i-stop function.
•  Inhibits the i-ELOOP control.
P0A94:00
•  Inhibits engine-stop by operating the i-stop function.
•  Depending on the type of malfunction, any of the following controls may be implemented.
―  Transition to i-ELOOP bypass mode.
―  i-ELOOP bypass mode inhibited.
P2502:00
•  Inhibits engine-stop by operating the i-stop function.
•  Generator switch to default mode requested (14.5 V constant voltage power generation).
•  Transition to i-ELOOP bypass mode.
P2504:00
•  Inhibits engine-stop by operating the i-stop function.
•  Generator switch to default mode requested. If the temperature of the generator exceeds the specified value, the generator itself stops power generation. But, if the internal circuit of the generator is malfunctioning, the generator may not accept the demand from the PCM.
U0298:00
•  Inhibits engine-stop by operating the i-stop function.
