DTC U3003:16

Battery voltage low

DETECTION CONDITION
Voltage from battery power supply remains at 9 V or less for 5 s or more
POSSIBLE CAUSE
•  Battery malfunction
•  Open or short circuit in wiring harness between position memory control module and battery
•  Open or short circuit in wiring harness between battery module and GND

Diagnostic procedure

INSPECT BATTERY
•  Turn the ignition switch to LOCK position.
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Check the battery voltage.
•  Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Replace the battery.
Go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT POSITON MEMORY CONTROL MODULE CONNECTOR CONDITION
•  Disconnect the position memory control module connector.
•  Inspect the connector and terminals (corrosion, damage, pin disconnection).
•  Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Repair or replace the connector or terminals, then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT POSITION MEMORY CONTROL MODULE CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
•  Disconnect the positive battery cable.
•  Position memory control module connector is disconnected.
•  Inspect for continuity between the following terminals (wiring harness-side):
―  Positive battery terminal—Position memory control module terminal 1F
•  Is there continuity?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness for possible open circuit, then go to the next step.

INSPECT NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE
•  Inspect the negative battery cable.
•  Is there continuity?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness for possible open circuit, then go to the next step.

VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED
•  Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
•  Reconnect the positive battery cable.
•  Reconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Clear the DTC using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [POSITION MEMORY CONTROL SYSTEM].)
•  Switch the ignition to ON.
•  Perform the DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same DTC present?
Yes
Replace the front seat slide adjuster. (See FRONT SEAT SLIDE ADJUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
