TRANSFER OIL SEAL (LH) REPLACEMENT

1.  Remove the transfer. (See TRANSFER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

2.  Remove the transfer dust seal (LH). (See TRANSFER DUST SEAL (LH) REPLACEMENT.)

3.  Insert two tapping screws into the oil seal.

4.  Pry the screws using a fastener remover to remove the oil seal.

5.  Using the SST (49 S034 205) and a hammer, tap a new oil seal until the SST contacts the transfer case.

Substitution SST

•  49 S034 205

Outer diameter: 67 mm {2.6 in}

Inner diameter: 59 mm {2.3 in}

6.  Install the transfer dust seal (LH). (See TRANSFER DUST SEAL (LH) REPLACEMENT.)

7.  Install the transfer. (See TRANSFER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

8.  Inspect for leakage of transfer oil.
