DTC 12	Ambient temperature sensor (present)
POSSIBLE CAUSE	•  Ambient temperature sensor malfunction •  Open or short circuit between ambient temperature sensor and front climate control unit

Diagnostic procedure

STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	•  Is resistance between terminals 2I and 2P of front climate control unit connector (16-pin) as indicated below? ―  190 ohms—40 kilohms (-30—80 °C {-22—176 °F}) ―  1.615—1.785 kilohms (25 °C {77 °F})	Yes	Inspect the connection of the front climate control unit connector.
		No	Go to the next step.
2	•  Inspect ambient temperature sensor. (See AMBIENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR INSPECTION.) •  Is it okay?	Yes	Repair wiring harness.
		No	Replace ambient temperature sensor. (See AMBIENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
