DETECTION CONDITION
|
• Position memory control module reads signal stop from position sensor 4 times when recliner motor energization current is normal
• Position memory control module reads that recliner motor energization current is at 1 A or less 4 times when motor is operating
|
POSSIBLE CAUSE
|
• Position sensor malfunction
• Short to ground in wiring harness between the following terminals:
• Recliner motor malfunction
• Short to ground in wiring harness between the following terminals:
• Position memory control module malfunction

INSPECT RECLINER MOTOR CONNECTOR CONDITION
• Turn the ignition switch to OFF position.
• Disconnect the negative battery cable.
• Disconnect recliner motor connector.
• Inspect the connector and terminals (corrosion, damage, pin disconnection).
• Is there any malfunction?

Yes
|
Repair or replace the connector or terminals, then go to the next step.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.
|

|
INSPECT POSITON SENSOR
• Inspect the position sensor. (See RECLINER MOTOR INSPECTION.)
• Is the position sensor normal?
|
Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Replace the front seat slide adjuster, then go to the next step. (See FRONT SEAT SLIDE ADJUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

INSPECT POSITON MEMORY CONTROL MODULE CONNECTOR CONDITION
• Disconnect position memory control module connector.
• Inspect the connector and terminals (corrosion, damage, pin disconnection).
• Is there any malfunction?

Yes
|
Repair or replace the connector or terminals, then go to the next step.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.
|

INSPECT POSITION MEMORY CONTROL MODULE CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
• Position memory control module and recliner motor connectors are disconnected.
• Inspect for continuity between the following terminals (wiring harness-side):
• Is there continuity?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Repair or replace the wiring harness for possible open circuit, then go to the next step.
|

INSPECT RECLINER MOTOR
• Inspect the recliner motor. (See RECLINER MOTOR INSPECTION.)
• Is the recliner motor normal?
|
Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Replace the front seat slide adjuster, then go to the next step. (See FRONT SEAT SLIDE ADJUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

INSPECT POSITION MEMORY CONTROL MODULE CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
• Position memory control module and recliner motor connectors are disconnected.
• Inspect for continuity between the following terminals (wiring harness-side):
• Is there continuity?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Repair or replace the wiring harness for possible open circuit, then go to the next step.
|

|
VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED
• Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
• Reconnect the negative battery cable.
• Clear the DTC using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [POSITION MEMORY CONTROL SYSTEM].)
• Switch the ignition to ON.
• Perform the DTC inspection using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [POSITION MEMORY CONTROL SYSTEM].)
• Is the same DTC present?

Yes
|
Replace the front seat slide adjuster. (See FRONT SEAT SLIDE ADJUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

No
|
DTC troubleshooting completed.
