POSSIBLE CAUSE
|
• Malfunction in closer motor related part
• Malfunction in latch position switch related part
• PLG control module malfunction

INSPECT CLOSER MOTOR
• Inspect the closer motor.
• Is the liftgate latch and lock actuator normal?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No
|
Replace the closer motor.

INSPECT WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN PLG CONTROL MODULE AND CLOSER MOTOR
• Turn the ignition switch to OFF position.
• Disconnect the closer motor and PLG control module connectors.
• Inspect for open or short to ground circuit for following:
• Is open circuit detected?

Yes
|
Repair or replace malfunctioning part.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.

INSPECT HALF LATCH SWITCH
• Inspect the half latch switch.
• Is the half latch switch normal?
|
Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Replace the liftgate latch and lock actuator.
|

INSPECT WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN PLG CONTROL MODULE AND HALF LATCH SWITCH
• Turn the ignition switch to OFF position.
• Disconnect the liftgate latch and lock actuator and PLG control module connectors.
• Inspect for open or short to POWER/ground circuit between liftgate latch and lock actuator terminal B and PLG control module terminal 3H.
• Is open or short circuit detected?

Yes

Repair or replace malfunctioning part.

No

Replace the PLG control module.
