AUTO LIGHT-OFF SYSTEM OPERATION

Operation

•  When the following conditions are satisfied, the auto light/wiper control module turns on the lights and activates the built-in timer. When the specified time has passed, the lights go off.

Illumination time
•  Ignition switch is at ON position.
•  Light switch is at TNS or HEAD position.
•  Light switch is in AUTO position and auto light system is operating.
Ignition switch is turned to OFF or ACC position.
Approx. 30 s
•  Ignition switch is at OFF or ACC position.
Light switch is turned to TNS or HEAD position.
•  Light switch is at TNS position and timer is operating.
•  Light switch is at AUTO position and timer is operating.
Light switch is turned to HEAD position.

•  The timer is canceled according to the following conditions, and then the system operates as follows:

Cancel condition

Auto light-off system operation
Ignition switch is turned to ON position.
•  When light switch is at TNS position, TNS relay turns on.
•  When light switch is at HEAD position, headlight relay (LO) and TNS relay turns on.
Light switch is turned off.
TNS and headlight relay (LO) turn off.
Light switch is turned AUTO position.
TNS and headlight relay (LO) turn off.

•  The lights turn on when the ignition switch is at the ON position and the light switch is at the TNS or HEAD position, even if the auto light/wiper control module is malfunctioning.
