Warning
•  Medical devices such as cardiac pacemakers may be adversely affected by electromagnetic waves generated during the charging operation. Therefore, when using a medical device such as a cardiac pacemaker, check with the medical device manufacturer in advance.
•  Do not charge the high voltage battery with wet hands as you may receive an electric shock. Also, do not allow the charge lid or charge connector to become wet.
Caution
•  Do not disassemble, modify, or repair the charge cable. Doing so may result in an electric shock.
•  If any abnormalities occur during charging, such as an unusual odor or smoke, stop charging immediately.
•  Do not connect the booster cable to the lead-acid battery while charging.
•  Be careful not to let water or dust enter the charge lid.
Note
•  When the high voltage battery is at low temperature, the time required for charging may become longer or the charging amount may be reduced.
•  If both the quick charge connector and the normal charge connector are connected, charging cannot be performed.
•  During charging, the cooling fan may operate even when the main power is switched OFF.

Normal Charge

Warning
•  If charging is done using a commercially available extension cable or ground conversion plug, it could lead to electrical shock because it cannot be grounded. Therefore, do not use a commercially available extension cable or ground conversion plug.
Caution
•  When charging is performed using a generator or the like, the vehicle may be damaged due to significant changes in the supplied power. Therefore, always use an EV charging outlet when charging.

1.  Shift the selector lever to the P position.

2.  After switching the main power OFF, verify that the READY indicator is off.

3.  Open the charge lid.

4.  Connect the charge cable plug to the EV charging outlet.

5.  Open the normal charge port cap and connect the charge connector.

Note
•  Charging begins when the charging connector is connected correctly.
•  When the charging connector is connected correctly, [Preparing to Charge] is displayed in the instrument cluster. When charging begins, the indication changes to [Charging].

6.  When charging is completed, release the charge connector while pressing the release switch.

Note
•  If the [Charge Connector Lock] setting in the personalization features is set to [Locked When Connected], press the unlock button on the remote transmitter and remove the charging connector within 30 s.

7.  Close the normal charge port cap.

8.  Close the charge lid.

9.  Unplug the charge cable from the EV charging outlet.

Quick Charge

Caution
•  Do not use excessive force when disconnecting the charge connector.
Note
•  Depending on the remaining amount and temperature of the high voltage battery, charging may be completed before the predetermined charging amount is reached.
•  When the charging connector is connected correctly, [Preparing to Charge] is displayed in the instrument cluster. When charging begins, the indication changes to [Charging].

1.  Shift the selector lever to the P position.

2.  After switching the main power OFF, verify that the READY indicator is off.

3.  Open the charge lid.

4.  Open the quick charge port cap and connect the charge connector while pressing the release lever.

5.  Operate as described for the quick charger.

Caution
•  If the charging connector light is equipped, verify that it turns off and remove the charging connector.

6.  When charging is completed, release the charge connector while pressing the release lever.

7.  Close the quick charge port cap.

8.  Close the charge lid.
