AUTOHOLD SWITCH

Purpose
• The AUTOHOLD switch switches the AUTOHOLD on/off.
Function
• For the AUTOHOLD switch, the AUTOHOLD condition is indicated by turning on/flashing the AUTOHOLD stand-by indicator light.
• When the AUTOHOLD switch is pressed while the AUTOHOLD stand-by indicator light turns off, the AUTOHOLD turns on and the AUTOHOLD stand-by indicator light turns on. At this time, if the vehicle condition meets the AUTOHOLD operation conditions, the AUTOHOLD operates. When the AUTOHOLD switch is pressed while the AUTOHOLD stand-by indicator light turns on, the AUTOHOLD turns off and the AUTOHOLD stand-by indicator light turns off.

• The AUTOHOLD switch is located on the upper panel.

• When the AUTOHOLD switch is pressed, the contact point in the AUTOHOLD switch closes. When a finger is released from the AUTOHOLD switch, the contact point in the AUTOHOLD switch opens automatically.

1. When the AUTOHOLD switch is operated, it sends (1) an AUTOHOLD switch operation signal from the AUTOHOLD switch to the ESU.
2. The ESU outputs (2) the AUTOHOLD switch operation signal to the electronically controlled brake unit via CAN communication.
3. When the electronically controlled brake unit receives the AUTOHOLD switch operation signal, it switches (3) the AUTOHOLD on/off.
AUTOHOLD stand-by indicator light

• The ESU receives an AUTOHOLD stand-by indicator light on/flash/off signal from the electronically controlled brake unit and turns on/off or flashes the AUTOHOLD stand-by indicator light.
• When the AUTOHOLD is turned on, the AUTOHOLD stand-by indicator light turns on and the AUTOHOLD goes on stand-by. When the AUTOHOLD is turned off, the AUTOHOLD stand-by indicator light turns off.
• If any of the following conditions is met when the driver presses the AUTOHOLD switch while the AUTOHOLD stand-by indicator light is turned off, the AUTOHOLD stand-by indicator light flashes.

― Driver seat belt is unfastened
― Driver’s door is open
― Main power is not switched ON (READY on)
― AUTOHOLD function is malfunctioning
• If the following condition is met when the driver presses the AUTOHOLD switch while the AUTOHOLD stand-by indicator light is turned on, the AUTOHOLD stand-by indicator light flashes.
