PARKING LOCK ACTUATOR INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE [A71M]

Warning

•  If the initialization procedure is not completed, the parking lock actuator will not operate properly and it might cause an unexpected accident. Therefore, after replacing the parking lock actuator, always perform the initialization procedure to insure proper parking lock actuator operation.

•  When performing the procedure while the vehicle is on the ground, block the front and rear wheels using wheel blocks. Otherwise, the vehicle may move when the electric parking brake is released.

1.  Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.

2.  Switch the main power ON (READY on).

3.  Perform the following procedure using the M-MDS.

(1)  Press [Start] for the vehicle identification.

(2)  Press the [Toolbox] tab.

(3)  Press the [Work Support] icon.

(4)  Press [BRAKES].

(5)  Press [Run] for Calibrating E parking lock.

4.  Fasten the driver’s seat belt.

5.  Release the electric parking brake.

6.  Shift the selector lever to the N position.

7.  Perform the procedure according to the directions on the screen.
