ACCUMULATOR
id071100700500
Purpose
• The accumulator separates the gas-liquid 2 phase refrigerant into the gaseous refrigerant and the liquid refrigerant to prevent excessive liquid refrigerant from flowing to the electric compressor.
Function
• The accumulator separates excessive oil in the liquid refrigerant to maintain the oil amount of the refrigerant cycle properly.
Structure/construction
• The accumulator consists of the following parts.
-
― Tank
― Cup
― Tie wrap
― Desiccant
― Inner pipe
― Outer pipe (with oil return hole)
― Filter
Operation
• The gas-liquid 2 phase refrigerant input from the refrigerant inlet is separated into the gaseous refrigerant and the liquid refrigerant.
• The separated liquid refrigerant is accumulated in the lower part of the tank.
• The separated gaseous refrigerant is sent to the refrigerant outlet as follows.
-
1. Upper part of outer pipe (1)
2. Lower part of inner pipe (2)
3. Internal part of inner pipe (3)
• When the gaseous refrigerant is sent from the refrigerant inlet to the refrigerant outlet, a part of the liquid mixed with the liquid refrigerant and oil from the oil return hole and mixes with the gaseous refrigerant to supply oil required for lubrication.
