Purpose
• The electric expansion valve atomizes liquid refrigerant to facilitate cooling of the evaporator.
Function
• The electric expansion valve reduces the pressure of liquid refrigerant rapidly to facilitate vaporization of the atomized refrigerant at the evaporator, and adjusts the refrigerant amount sent into the evaporator.
Structure/construction
• The stepping motor is used for the drive part of the electric expansion valve.
• The electric expansion valve consists of the following parts.

Operation
• Adjustment of the refrigerant amount supplied to the evaporator is performed by the valve opening angle in the electric expansion valve.
• The opening angle adjustment is performed by the stepping motor.

― The rotor rotates as pulse current is applied to the coil in the stepping motor.
― The rotational movement of the rotor is converted to the linear movement of the valve in the feeding thread area, the opening area between the valve and the sheet is changed, and then the flow amount is adjusted.
