Caution

•  Do not apply excessive force when rotating the clock spring to avoid damaging it.

Note

•  The SRS air bag system can be identified by whether or not the seat track position sensor is present.

―  Standard deployment control system: Without seat track position sensor

―  Two-step deployment control system: With seat track position sensor

•  Adjust the clock spring with the front tires in a straight-ahead condition.

1.  Rotate clockwise until the clock spring stops.

2.  Turn the clock spring back approx. 2 turns counterclockwise.

Note

•  A different color guide appears only when the clock spring adjustment is completed.

3.  Verify that the guide is visible in the viewing slot.
