POWER WINDOW SYSTEM

Outline

•  When the power window main switch or the power window subswitch is operated, the door glass opens/closes.

Function

Manual open/manual close function

•  When the power window main switch or the power window subswitch is operated for manual operation, the front door glass opens/closes manually.

Auto open/auto close function

•  When the power window main switch or the power window subswitch is operated for auto operation, the front door glass performs auto open/close operation.

Power-cut function

•  When the power-cut switch is on, open/close operations other than the driver’s switch of the power window main switch are disabled.

IG OFF timer function

•  The front door glass can be opened/closed using the power window main switch for approx. 40s after the main power is switched OFF.

Auto reverse pinch protection function

•  If an obstruction by a foreign object is detected during the close operation, the operation changes from close to open.

Fully-closed position record function

•  The door electrical supply unit records the fully-closed position of each door glass.
•  If recording of the fully-closed position is not completed, the door electrical supply unit inhibits the auto reverse pinch detection function and auto open/auto close function because it cannot distinguish between an object being pinched by the door glass or the door glass being fully closed.

Operation

Manual open/close operation using power window main switch (Example: Manual close operation of driver’s front door glass)

1.  When the driver’s switch of the power window main switch is operated for manual close operation, the door-electrical supply unit (driver’s side) detects that a manual close operation was performed.

2.  When the door-electrical supply unit (driver’s side) detects the manual close operation, power is supplied to the front power window motor (driver’s side).

3.  When the door-electrical supply unit (driver’s side) detects that the manual close operation stopped or the front door glass moved to the fully closed position, power supply to the front power window motor (driver’s side) is stopped.

Auto open/close operation using power window main switch (Example: Auto open operation of driver’s front door glass)

1.  When the driver’s switch of the power window main switch is operated for auto open operation, the door-electrical supply unit (driver’s side) detects that an auto open operation was performed.

2.  When the door-electrical supply unit (driver’s side) detects the auto open operation, power is supplied to the front power window motor (driver’s side).

3.  When the door-electrical supply unit (driver’s side) detects that the auto open operation stopped or the front door glass moved to the fully open position, power supply to the front power window motor (driver’s side) is stopped.

Manual open/close operation using power window subswitch (Example: Manual close operation of passenger's front door glass)

1.  When the power window subswitch is operated for manual close operation, the door-electrical supply unit (passenger’s side) detects that a manual close operation was performed.

2.  When the door-electrical supply unit (passenger’s side) detects the manual close operation, power is supplied to the front power window motor (passenger’s side).

3.  When the door-electrical supply unit (passenger’s side) detects that the manual close operation stopped or the front passenger’s front door glass moved to the fully closed position, power supply to the front power window motor (passenger’s side) is stopped.

Auto open/close operation using power window subswitch (Example: Auto open operation of passenger’s front door glass)

1.  When the power window subswitch is operated for auto open operation, the door-electrical supply unit (passenger’s side) detects that an auto open operation was performed.

2.  When the door-electrical supply unit (passenger’s side) detects the auto open operation, power is supplied to the front power window motor (passenger’s side).

3.  When the door-electrical supply unit (passenger’s side) detects that the front passenger’s front door glass moved to the fully open position, power supply to the front power window motor (passenger’s side) is stopped.

Power-cut switch operation

Power-cut switch is on when power window motor is not operating
1.  When the door-electrical supply unit detects that the power-cut switch is on, power supply to all the power window motors except the driver’s is stopped.
Power-cut switch is on when door glass is auto opening/auto closing
1.  When the door-electrical supply unit detects that the power-cut switch is on, the door glass is moved to the fully closed or fully open position and the power window motor operation is stopped.
2.  When the door-electrical supply unit detects that the power window motor operation was stopped, power supply to all the power window motors except the driver's is stopped.
Power-cut switch is on when door glass is manually opened/closed
1.  When the door-electrical supply unit detects that the power-cut switch is on, the power window motor operation is stopped.
2.  When the door-electrical supply unit detects that the power window motor operation was stopped, power supply to all the power window motors except the driver's is stopped.

IG OFF timer operation

1.  When the main power is switched OFF, the door-electrical supply unit operates the IG OFF timer function.

2.  While the IG OFF timer function is operating (approx. 40 s), the power window main switch and the power outer mirror switch can be operated.

Operation of auto reverse pinch protection operation

1.  When the door-electrical supply unit detects a power window motor current change for 0.3 s or more during an auto close operation, it determines that jamming occurred.

2.  When the door-electrical supply unit detects that jamming occurred, it rotates the power window motor in the opposite direction to open the door glass approx. 200 mm {7.87 in}.

Fully-closed position record operation

1.  The door-electrical supply unit records the door glass position at each seat when the switch is pulled and held for approx. 2 s after the door glass is fully closed from the fully opened position with the main power switched ON (READY on or off).

•  Performing the following operations will reset the initial setting and disable the auto operation. Perform the initial setting again.
―  Door-electrical supply unit is replaced
―  Door glass is manually opened/closed 10 times without fully closing it

Door-electrical supply unit operation

1.  The door-electrical supply unit reads the ripple waveform of the power window motor current and calculates the position of the front door glass.
