POWER DOOR AND CHARGE LID LOCK SYSTEM [(E)]

id0914007024x2

Outline

•  When the door lock switch or the remote transmitter or the touch sensor located in outer handle is operated to lock/unlock, all the doors and the charge lid lock/unlock.

Function

Door lock switch interlock function

•  When the door lock switch is operated to lock/unlock, all the doors and charge lid lock/unlock.
Note
•  The time until the charge lid is locked after locking the driver’s door can be changed. (Initial time is 0sec)

Double locking function (With double locking)

•  When all the doors and liftgate are closed and locked two times consecutively, the unlock operation for all door lock knobs is disabled.

Collision detection unlock function

•  All doors unlock if the vehicle is in a collision to enhance rescue operation from outside the vehicle.

Auto door lock function

•  All doors and charge lid automatically lock/unlock in conjunction with the vehicle speed and the operation of the selector lever and the power switch.

Function for locking all doors by lock knob operation without using remote transmitter

•  Any door can be locked without the remote transmitter or auxiliary key by setting the door lock knob to the lock position with the door open and closing the door.

Operation

Lock/unlock operation using door lock switch

1.  When the door-electrical supply unit (driver’s side) detects a door lock switch signal (lock/unlock) (1), it sends the door lock switch signal (lock/unlock) (2) to the body control module (BCM) via CAN communication.

2.  When the body control module (BCM) receives the door lock switch signal (lock/unlock) (2), it determines that the doors are to be locked/unlocked and sends a lock/unlock request signal (3) to the following parts via CAN

•  Door-electrical supply unit (driver's side)
•  Door-electrical supply unit (passenger’s side)
•  Electrical supply unit (ESU)
•  Charging port electrical supply unit

3.  When the door-electrical supply unit (driver's side) and the door-electrical supply unit (passenger’s side) receive the lock/unlock request signal (3), they operate (4) the motors of the door lock actuators to lock/unlock the doors.

4.  When the electrical supply unit (ESU) receives the lock/unlock request signal (3), it operates (4) the motor of the liftgate latch and lock actuator to lock/unlock the liftgate.

5.  When the charging port electrical supply unit receives the lock/unlock request signal (3), it operates (4) the motor of the charge lid lock actuator to lock/unlock the charging port lid.

Double locking function (With double locking)

1.  When the following operation condition is met, the body control module (BCM) sends a double-locking request signal (2) to the door-electrical supply units (driver's side and passenger's side).

Operation condition
•  The lock button on the remote transmitter is pressed again (1) within approx. 3 s after locking all the doors and the liftgate using the remote transmitter.

2.  When the door-electrical supply units (driver's side and passenger's side) receive the double-locking request signal, the motors of the door lock actuators operate (3) the double-locking function.

3.  When the door lock actuator operates the double-locking function, the following operations cannot be performed.

•  Unlocking doors using door lock knob
•  Opening doors using inner handle

Collision detection unlock function operation

1.  When the air bags deploy, the SAS control module sends an air bag deployment signal to the door-electrical supply unit (driver’s side) and the door-electrical supply unit (passenger's side) via CAN signals and electric signals.

2.  The door-electrical supply unit (driver’s side) and the door-electrical supply unit (passenger's side) receive the air bag deployment signal and after approx. 6 s, they operate the front door lock actuator motors, and the front doors unlock.

Note
•  For the deployment conditions of each air bag, refer to [AIR BAG SYSTEM]. (See AIR BAG SYSTEM [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM (E)].)
•  When the collision detection unlock function operates, power is assured from the backup power supply.

Auto Door Lock Operation

Selector lever interlock door lock/unlock control
•  The doors and charge lid lock when the selector lever is shifted to a position other than the P position with all the following conditions met.
―  Theft-deterrent system in operation stop-mode, initial mode, or stand-by preparatory mode (See THEFT-DETERRENT SYSTEM [(E)].)
―  Main power ON (READY on) is detected
―  All door latch switch OFF (all doors closed condition) is detected
―  Liftgate latch switch OFF (liftgate closed condition) is detected
―  Vehicle is determined to be driven
•  The doors and charge lid unlock when the selector lever is shifted to the P position with all the following conditions met.
―  Theft-deterrent system in operation stop-mode, initial mode, or stand-by preparatory mode (See THEFT-DETERRENT SYSTEM [(E)].)
―  Main power ON (READY on) is detected
―  AUTO P control is operating
Vehicle speed interlock door lock control
•  The doors and charge lid unlock when a vehicle speed of 20 km/h {12 mph} or more is detected with all the following conditions met.
IG interlock door unlock control
•  When all of the following conditions are met, the doors unlock when it is detected that the main power is switched from ON (READY off or on) to OFF or ACC.
―  Theft-deterrent system in operation stop-mode, initial mode, or stand-by preparatory mode (See THEFT-DETERRENT SYSTEM [(E)].)
―  Doors locked by selector lever interlock door lock control or vehicle interlock door lock control
Function for locking all doors by lock knob operation without using remote transmitter
•  All the doors, fuel filler lid, and the liftgate can be locked using the following procedure.
1.  Main power is switched OFF
2.  Open any of the doors and lock all the door lock knobs from unlock (lock stand-by status).
3.  Close any open door.
Caution
•  Even though the main power is switched to a position other than OFF between Steps 2 and 3 above, the lock stand-by status remains as is, and the doors are locked.
Remove the remote transmitter from the vehicle because unlocking by the remote transmitter left-in-vehicle prevention function does not occur.
