Outline

•  A liftgate opener system has been adopted in which the liftgate can be opened just by pressing the liftgate opener switch.

Function

•  When the liftgate opener switch is pressed, the liftgate latch and lock actuator operates to open the liftgate.
•  The liftgate opener system is controlled based on the following CAN signals:

Operation

1.  When the body control module (BCM) receives a liftgate opener switch on signal (1), it sends a liftgate release signal (2) to the electrical supply unit (ESU) via CAN communication.

2.  When the electrical supply unit (ESU) receives the liftgate release signal (2) with all the operation conditions met, it operates (3) the motor of the liftgate latch and lock actuator to release the liftgate.

Operation condition
―  Vehicle speed of 3 km/h {2 mph} or less received
―  Driver's door lock-link switch unlock signal (driver’s door is unlocked) is detected
―  Theft-deterrent system is not operating (with theft-deterrent system)
