FRONT MAP LIGHT

Purpose
• The front map lights shine light at the front of the vehicle interior.
Function
• The body control module (BCM) detects the on/off of the front map light switch and controls the on/off of the front map light.
• Illuminates according to the lock condition of the driver's door and open/close conditions of the doors under the body control module (BCM) control when the interior light door open interlock off switch is off.
Construction
• A LED type is available for the front map lights.
• The front map light which are integrated with the sunglass holder has been adopted.
• The front map light is positioned in the front part of the headliner.

• When the body control module (BCM) receives a lock signal on the remote transmitter with the main power switched OFF and all doors/ liftgate closed, it automatically turns the front map light off.
Front map light switch operation
1. When the front map light switch (LH) turns on (1), the front map light (LH) turns on (2).
Room light switch operation
1. When the room light switch turns on (1), the front map light (LH) and (RH) turn on (2).
Interior light door open interlock off switch operation
1. When any door is opened, the body control module (BCM) detects (1) a door latch switch on signal.
2. When the body control module (BCM) detects the door latch switch on signal, it sends (2) a map light on request signal to the front map light via LIN communication.
3. When the front map light receives the map light on request signal with the interior light door open interlock off switch switched off, it turns the rear map lights on (3).
