REAR MAP LIGHT

Purpose
• The rear map light shines light at the center of the vehicle interior.
Function
• The body control module (BCM) detects the on/off of the rear map light switch and controls the on/off of the rear map light.
• Illuminates according to the lock condition of the driver's door and open/close conditions of the doors under the body control module (BCM) control when the interior light door open interlock off switch for front map light is off.
Structure/Construction
• A LED type is available for the rear map light.
• The rear map light is positioned in the rear part of the headliner.

• When the body control module (BCM) receives a lock signal on the remote transmitter with the main power switched OFF and all doors/liftgate closed, it automatically turns the rear map light off.
Rear map light switch operation (with rear map light switch)

1. When the rear map light switch (LH) turns on (1), the rear map light (LH) turns on (2).

Room light switch for front map light operation

1. When the room light switch for the front map light turns on (1), the rear map light (LH) and (RH) turn on (2).

Interior light door open interlock off switch operation for front map light

1. When any door is opened, the body control module (BCM) detects (1) a door latch switch on signal.
2. When the body control module (BCM) detects the door latch switch on signal, it sends (2) a map light on request signal to the front map light via LIN communication.
3. When the front map light receives the map light on request signal with the interior light door open interlock off switch for front map light switched off, it turns the rear map lights on (3).
