WINDSHIELD WIPER BLADE AND RUBBER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Windshield Wiper Blade Removal/Installation

1.  Move the windshield wipers to the service positions using the following procedure.

(1)  Switch the main power ON (READY off or on).

(2)  Switch the main power OFF.

(3)  Switch the main power OFF and push the wiper switch up to the MIST position twice within 30 s.

2.  Raise the windshield wiper arm.

Caution

•  If the windshield wiper arm end is placed directly on the windshield after removing the windshield wiper blade, it could scratch the windshield. If the windshield wiper arm end is to be placed on the windshield, place it on a cloth to protect the windshield.

3.  While pressing the tab of the windshield wiper arm in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure, move the windshield wiper blade in the direction of arrow (2) to remove it from the windshield wiper arm.

4.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

5.  Move the windshield wiper to the initial position using the following procedure.

(1)  Slowly let down the windshield wiper arm onto the windshield.

(2)  Switch the main power ON (READY off or on).

(3)  Push the wiper switch up towards the MIST position 1 time.

Windshield Wiper Blade Rubber Removal/Installation

1.  Remove the windshield wiper blade. (See Windshield Wiper Blade Removal/Installation.)

2.  Pull the windshield wiper blade rubber in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and move it so that the groove of the blade holder can be seen.

3.  Move the end of the windshield wiper blade rubber in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure, and pull the end of the windshield wiper blade rubber out of the groove in the blade holder.

4.  Remove the windshield wiper blade rubber.

5.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

6.  Verify that the windshield wiper blade rubber is installed correctly.
