Removal Procedure

1.  Refer to [DAMAGED VEHICLE HANDLING] and [HIGH VOLTAGE SERVICE CAUTIONS] in the general information, implement the necessary measures, and then start the procedure.(See DAMAGED VEHICLE HANDLING [(E)].) (See HIGH VOLTAGE SERVICE CAUTIONS.)

2.  Using a disc grinder, grind the continuous arc welds in the 5 locations in area A shown in the figure.

Caution
•  If the front side frame flange is damaged when grinding the continuous arc welds in the 5 locations in area A shown in the figure, the integrity of the bumper bracket installation could be compromised. For the 5 locations in area A, look at the grinding locations while performing the work so the front side frame does not get damaged.

3.  Grind the continuous arc welds in the 2 locations in area B shown in the figure.

4.  Drill the spot welds in the 4 locations in area C shown in the figure from the front side frame (inner).

Note
•  When drilling the spot welds in the 4 locations in area C shown in the figure, do not drill through-holes in consideration of the workability when installing.

5.  Drill the spot weld in the 1 location in area D shown in the figure from the front side frame (inner).

6.  Using a belt sander, grind the arc welds in the 5 locations in area E shown in the figure.

7.  Drill the spot weld in the 1 location in area F shown in the figure from the front side frame (outer).

8.  Remove the bumper bracket.
