DETERMINING OPEN CIRCUIT LOCATION (CAN-BUS No.2) [R.H.D.]

id100226002100

Caution
•  Perform the following malfunction diagnosis only when it is diagnosed with a open circuit by CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN) MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW. (See CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN) MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW [R.H.D.].)
•  If the malfunctioning part is detected in the communication line, before disconnecting the related connector for inspection, press the connector in the connection direction to verify that there is no looseness or disconnection.
•  When disconnecting the connector, verify that there is no damage, deformation, or corrosion of the connector terminals.
Warning
<<High voltage>>
•  Always observe the following thoroughly to ensure safety when inspecting or removing/installing parts in the motor compartment. Otherwise, the high voltage circuit may operate on the vehicle regardless of whether or not the main power is switched OFF or ON (READY off or on). If this occurs, it could cause electrical shock and result in serious injury or, in the worst case, death.
―  Do not select high voltage battery cooling on center display after EV system stops
―  Do not open/close doors frequently with main power switched OFF
―  Do not perform normal charging or quick charging
―  Switch to connected vehicle maintenance mode (MyMazda App connected vehicle)
―  Cancel climate control timer
―  Operate center display and turn off battery heater operation
Warning
•  The cooling fan may suddenly start operating regardless of the main power switch position. Keep hands and tools away from the cooling fan even if the cooling fan is not operating to prevent injury, or damage to the cooling fan. When servicing the cooling fan or parts near the cooling fan, ensure the following.
―  Do not perform normal charging or quick charging
―  Do not select high voltage battery cooling on center display after EV system stops
―  Do not open/close doors frequently with main power switched OFF
―  Switch to connected vehicle maintenance mode (MyMazda App connected vehicle)
―  Cancel climate control timer
―  Operate center display and turn off battery heater operation
Warning
<<High voltage>>
•  If the necessary measures are not taken before servicing an electric vehicle, it could cause electrical shock and result in serious injury or, in the worst case, death. Before servicing the electric vehicle, refer to [HIGH VOLTAGE SERVICE CAUTIONS] in the general information and implement the necessary measures. (See HIGH VOLTAGE SERVICE CAUTIONS.)

High Voltage Part Inspection And Removal/Installation Notes

Warning
<<High voltage>>
•  If necessary measures such as wearing the correct protective gear are not taken when inspecting or removing/installing the high voltage parts, it could cause electrical shock and result in serious injury or, in the worst case, death.
•  Before inspecting or removing/installing the high voltage parts, refer to [HIGH VOLTAGE SERVICE CAUTIONS] in the general information and [High Voltage Part Inspection and Removal/Installation Notes] of the high voltage system service cautions and implement the necessary measures and preparations. (See HIGH VOLTAGE SERVICE CAUTIONS.) (See HIGH VOLTAGE SYSTEM SERVICE CAUTIONS.)

1.  Verify the CAN system-related module DTCs and the module displayed in red or blue on the M-MDS screen.

2.  Apply the communication error DTC and the module displayed in red or blue to the DTC output pattern and malfunctioning location, and select the possible cause for the diagnostic result and the reference for the inspection item. (See DTC Output Pattern And Malfunctioning Location.)

Note
•  The open circuit location can be determined by the DTC indicated in the DTC output pattern and malfunctioning location chart. DTCs not listed in the chart are not used for the determination of the open circuit location. (See DTC Output Pattern And Malfunctioning Location.)
•  The module may be displayed in red or blue on the M-MDS screen even if there is no malfunction depending on the vehicle specification.

3.  Inspect the possible cause and inspection item of the applicable malfunctioning part.
