FORWARD SENSING CAMERA (FSC) OPERATION RECORD

Purpose
• The forward sensing camera (FSC) operation record stores the recorded causes for stopping the forward sensing camera (FSC) operation.
Function
• The forward sensing camera (FSC) stores the following when the forward sensing camera (FSC) stops the operation.

― Cause of forward sensing camera (FSC) to stop operating*1
― Traveled distance
― Ambient temperature
― Forward sensing camera (FSC) internal temperature
*1 :The cause of the forward sensing camera (FSC) to stop operating can be verified using the Mazda Modular Diagnostic System (M-MDS) as indicated in the following table. The causes are (1) an environmental factor and (2) a vehicle cause. In case of an environmental factor, there is no problem with the forward sensing camera (FSC). In case of (2), a vehicle cause, perform a DTC inspection, as it is possible that there is a malfunction with the forward sensing camera (FSC).

*2 :Two of the causes which stop operation are always displayed using the Mazda Modular Diagnostic System (M-MDS). If there is one cause, [No Inhibition] is selected.
*3 :The description for the causes which stop operation are as follows.
A: Light is blocked by a dirty windshield or an obstruction on the windshield.
B: Vehicle is subjected to strong light from the vehicle front, light which is reflected repetitively and with complexity on the forward sensing camera (FSC) lens surface is projected as an image, or light reflects on the forward sensing camera (FSC) lens surface and white haze is projected as an image.
C: Windshield/forward sensing camera (FSC) is dirty, or screen image is distorted by occurrence of condensation (water droplets)
D: Camera lens direction is wrong (optical axis error due to poor tire-pressure, overload or abnormal camera assembly)
Operation
• The forward sensing camera (FSC) stores the operation stop record at the same time it stops the operation.
• The forward sensing camera (FSC) stores the operation resume record at the same time it resumes the operation after stopping the operation.

• If the main power is switched OFF while the forward sensing camera (FSC) has yet to return to normal after storing the operation stop record, the forward sensing camera (FSC) may not store the operation resume record.
