Purpose
• Generates magnetic field for rotating the rotor component during driving.
• Generates electric power for rotating the rotor component during regenerative braking.
Functions
• During regenerative braking, electrical power is generated in the stator coil as the magnetic flux changes around the stator coils.
• The rotating magnetic field generated by the stator coil causes the permanent magnet in the rotor component to attract/repel, which rotates the rotor component.
Construction
• The stator component consists of the stator core and the stator coils.
