ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR
id304000202000
Purpose, Function
• Detects accelerator pedal depression as basic information for determining electric motor drive torque.
• The accelerator pedal depression amount is sent to the PCM as an accelerator pedal position signal.
Construction
• The APP sensor is built into the accelerator pedal.
• An electromagnetic induction action applied to a non-contact type has been adopted to the detection area of the accelerator pedal position sensor for assured reliability. Additionally, malfunction detection has been improved using dual sensors with different output characteristics.
• When current flows to the energizing coil from the IC, the receiving coil generates voltage which causes electromagnetic induction between the energizing coil, the rotor coil and the receiving coil.
• When the rotor coil positional relationship changes, the generated voltage changes.
Operation
• The accelerator pedal position sensor sends the detected accelerator pedal depression amount to the PCM as the accelerator pedal position main (No.1) signal and the sub (No.2) signal.
