ELECTRIC EXPANSION VALVE
id304100100300
Purpose
• The electric expansion valve expands a high-temperature, high-pressure liquid refrigerant into an atomized refrigerant.
Functions
• By spraying liquid refrigerant from the throttle valve, the refrigerant expands rapidly and turns into a low-temperature low-pressure atomized refrigerant.
Structure
• The stepping motor is used for the drive part of the electric expansion valve.
• The electric expansion valve consists of the following parts.
-
― Mold resin
― Coil
― Rotor (magnet)
― Feeding thread area
― Valve
― Sheet
― Gear area
Operation
• The required opening angle for the electric expansion valve is input to the BECM from the heat pump control unit via CAN communication.
• The BECM drives the electric expansion valve based on the required opening angle.
• Adjustment of the refrigerant amount supplied to the evaporator is performed by the valve opening angle in the electric expansion valve.
• The opening angle adjustment is performed by the stepping motor.
-
― The rotor rotates as pulse current is applied to the coil in the stepping motor.
― The rotational movement of the rotor is converted to the linear movement of the valve in the feeding thread area, the opening area between the valve and the sheet is changed, and then the flow amount is adjusted.
