COOLANT CONTROL VALVE POSITION SENSOR INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]

id0140f4498000

PID/DATA Monitor Inspection

Note
•  The coolant control valve position sensor is built into the coolant control valve. When replacing the coolant control valve position sensor, replace the coolant control valve.

1.  Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.

2.  Switch the ignition ON (engine off).

3.  Display PCM PIDs [ENG_COOL_VLV_POS_COMD] and [ENG_COOL_VLV_POS_ACT] using the M-MDS. (See PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION.) (See PID/DATA MONITOR TABLE [PCM (SKYACTIV-G)].)

4.  When the engine is started after switching the ignition ON (engine off), verify that the PID [ENG_COOL_VLV_POS_ACT] value conforms to the PID [ENG_COOL_VLV_POS_COMD] value.

•  If not as verified, replace the coolant control valve (See COOLANT CONTROL VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0].)
•  If it can be verified, the coolant control valve position sensor is normal therefore the inspection is completed.
