Up Switch

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2. Remove the bolt.

3. Pull out the up switch from the steering wheel until the up switch connector is visible.

4. Disconnect the up switch connector.

5. Verify that the continuity between up switch component terminals A and B.

• If there is any malfunction, replace the up switch. (See STEERING SHIFT SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [ET6A-EL, ET6AX-EL].)

Up switch specification

Test condition	Continuity
Up switch is operated (Up switch is pulled outward)	Continuity
Up switch is not operated (Up switch is not pulled outward)	No continuity

Down Switch

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2. Remove the bolt.

3. Pull out the down switch from the steering wheel until the down switch connector is visible.

4. Disconnect the down switch connector.

5. Verify that the continuity between down switch component terminals A and B.
