SHIFT-LOCK SYSTEM
id052200701200
Purpose, function
• The shift-lock system inhibits the selector lever from being shifted from P to any other shift position.
• The microcomputer in the selector lever determines the shift lock/unlock based on the signal received from each control module.
Construction
Block diagram
Operation
• Shift lock/unlock is performed by energizing the shift-lock solenoid built into the selector lever.
• By energizing the shift-lock solenoid, the shift-lock solenoid is excited and the shift lock is released.
Shift-lock release (acceleration)
-
• When all of the following conditions are met, the shift-lock is released.
-
― Ignition is switched ON (engine on)
― Shift position is in P position
― Selector lever button is not pressed
― Brake pedal is depressed (brake switch on)
Shift-lock release (misoperation)
-
• If the selector lever is shifted to the P position while the vehicle is being driven at approx. 4 km/h or more, shift-lock is not performed.
• When the selector lever is in the P position due to this misoperation, a message is displayed in the instrument cluster to urge the driver to shift to the proper shift position.
-
Note
-
• When a shift-lock force drive signal is received, the shift-lock is released regardless of the conditions.
