HEATER HOSE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Replacement Part

Oil and chemical type

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Drain the engine coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [SKYACTIV-G 2.0].)

3.  Remove the plug hole plate. (See PLUG HOLE PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0].)

4.  Remove the heater hoses. (See Heater Hose Installation Note.)

5.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

6.  Add engine coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [SKYACTIV-G 2.0].)

7.  Inspect for engine coolant leakage. (See ENGINE COOLANT LEAKAGE INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0].)

Heater Hose Installation Note

1.  Install the heater hoses as follows.

•  A : Align the marking on the heater hose with the projection on the engine side and install the heater hose until it contacts the spool.

•  B : Align the marking on the heater hose with the marking on the engine side and install the heater hose until it contacts the spool.

•  C : Point the marking on the heater hose towards the upper side of the vehicle and install the heater hose until it contacts the spool.

2.  Verify that the distance from the edge of the heater hose to the center of the spool is 3.5 mm {0.13 in} or less.

3.  Install the clip in the direction shown in the figure.
