Outline

•  The distance to full discharge display notifies the driver of the remaining distance to full discharge.

Functions

•  The body control module (BCM) calculates the distance to full discharge based on the following signals and sends a distance to full discharge signal to the instrument cluster.

Distance to full discharge calculation function

•  The instrument cluster calculates the remaining distance to full discharge based on the fuel gauge sender unit voltage signal and traveled distance signal sent from the BCM via CAN communication. In addition, the calculation results are updated every 1 s.

•  The remaining distance to full discharge is displayed in the multi-information display of the instrument cluster.

Operation

1.  When the body control module (BCM) receives (1) the fuel gauge sender unit voltage signal from the electrical supply unit (ESU), the fuel injection amount signal from the PCM, and the vehicle speed signal from the electronically controlled brake unit via CAN communication while the ignition is switched ON (engine off or on), it calculates the distance to full discharge based on each signal and the traveled distance signal.

2.  The body control module (BCM) sends (2) the distance to full discharge signal to the instrument cluster based on the calculated distance to full discharge.

3.  The instrument cluster displays (3) the distance to full discharge on the multi-information display based on the distance to full discharge signal.
