Purpose

Function

Camera display function

•  The 360° view monitor control module calculates the top view image based on the video signals from each camera, and sends a video signal to the connectivity master unit (CMU).

Top view/front view, top view/front wide view, side view off-timer function

•  If a maximum of 270 s have elapsed since the display of the top view/front view, the top view/front wide view, and the side view screen, the 360° view monitor control module sends a video display cancel signal to the connectivity master unit (CMU).

Pedestrian recognition function

•  Recognizes pedestrians based on images shot by the rear mount camera.

Note

•  The smart brake support (SBS) [rearward detection] performs controls based on the 360° view monitor control module.

•  The 360° view monitor control module may not detect a target under the following conditions.

―  When driving in rain, mist, or snow

―  Ice, snow, frost, rain, or other foreign matter such as dirt is adhering to camera surface

―  Vehicle is driven up or down steep slopes

―  Vehicle is driven with significantly unevenly worn tires

―  Vehicle is driven on uneven roads

―  Surrounding area is dark such as at nighttime or evening, early morning, and in tunnel or indoor parking

―  Vehicle is equipped with tire chains or spare tire

―  Vehicle is towing another vehicle

―  Vehicle is tilted due to heavy cargo

―  Camera is subjected to strong light (such as backlight or high-beam of vehicle behind)
