Malfunction Detection Function

• Detects malfunctions in the ambient temperature sensor, cabin temperature sensor, solar radiation sensor, evaporator temperature sensor, and air mix actuator. If a malfunction is detected, the A/C switch illuminates.

Door Position Check Function

• Detects malfunctions in the mode actuator and the intake actuator. If a malfunction is detected, the recirculate switch or the rear defroster switch illuminates. If there is no malfunction, the A/C switch illuminates.

Operation Check Function

• The climate control unit forces operation of output related moving parts according to the operation check table regardless of input related parts. (Operation changes according to the mode dial position.) A malfunctioning part can be determined by verifying that each transition is as indicated in the operation check table through visual inspection, listening to the operation sound, or placing a hand on the air vent.
