DESCRIPTION

• Malfunction in trunk lid opener system, horn system, hazard warning light system, or door lock linkage system

POSSIBLE CAUSE

• Malfunction in keyless control module power supply
- Open circuit in IG1 and/or B+ power supply circuit
- Open or short circuit in ground circuit
- Keyless control module malfunction
• Malfunction in keyless switch related circuit
- Keyless switch malfunction
• Malfunction in door switch signal circuit
- Open or short circuit in wiring between keyless control module and door switch
- Door switch malfunction
• Malfunction in door lock/unlock signal circuit
- Door lock actuator malfunction
- Open or short circuit in wiring between keyless control module and door lock actuator
• Malfunction in turn light signal circuit
- Flasher unit malfunction
- Open or short circuit in wiring between flasher unit and each turn signal light

• Did any of the following operate during the malfunction diagnosis?
- All doors lock/unlock.
- Hazard warning light flashes.
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Inspect the connection of the keyless control module connectors, and then go to Step 4.

INSPECT FOR MALFUNCTION IN KEYLESS SWITCH OR ELSEWHERE

• Did the following operate during the malfunction diagnosis?
- All doors lock/unlock.
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Go to step 7.

INSPECT FOR MALFUNCTION IN DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR OR ELSEWHERE

• Did the following operate during the malfunction diagnosis?
- Hazard warning light flashes.
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Go to step 8.

INSPECT KEYLESS UNIT POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT

• Are the keyless control module power supply and voltage normal?

- IG1 signal (terminal 3B)

- B+ signal (terminal 1E, 1F)

Yes
Go to the next step.
No
• Inspect for a burnt fuse.
• Inspect the power supply system wiring harness for an open or short circuit.

INSPECT KEYLESS UNIT GROUND CIRCUIT

• Is the keyless control module ground voltage normal?

- 0V (terminal 1B, 3C)

Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Inspect the ground system wiring harness for an open circuit.

INSPECT LATCH SWITCH SIGNAL VOLTAGE

•  Are the wiring harnesses between the keyless control module and each door switch normal?
- Inspect each terminal (4O and 4T) under the following conditions.
• Door closed: B+
• Door open: 2.0V or less
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
• Inspect the door switch.
• Inspect the door switch system wiring harness for a short circuit.

INSPECT KEYLESS SWITCH

• Is the keyless switch normal?
Yes
Replace the keyless control module.
No
Replace the keyless switch.

INSPECT DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR OPERATION SIGNAL

• Is the signal voltage transmitted to the door lock actuator normal?
• Does the signal voltage transmitted to the door lock actuator change as follows when the malfunction diagnosis inspection procedure is performed.
- All doors locked: Cycles 1.0 V or less B+1.0 V or less (terminal 1A)
- All doors unlocked: Cycles B+1.0 V or lessB+ (terminal 1C)
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
• Inspect the wiring harness between the keyless control module and the door lock actuator for an open or short circuit.
• Inspect the door lock actuator.

INSPECT TURN LIGHT SIGNAL VOLTAGE

• Is the signal voltage transmitted to each turn light normal?
• Does the signal voltage transmitted to each turn light change as follows when the malfunction diagnosis inspection procedure is performed.
- Alternates between 1.0 or less and B+ (terminal 4N)
Yes
Verify the malfunction symptom again.
No
• Inspect the wiring harnesses between the keyless entry module and each turn light for a short circuit.
• Inspect each turn light.
