^*1: DSC system function contains traction control function, DSC indicator light goes on and off while DSC is operating

POSSIBLE CAUSE

•  DSC HU/CM DTC is stored

―  There is a malfunction in the engine control system (TCS malfunction)

•  Tire size or tire pressure malfunction

―  There is a difference in size or air pressure between the front and rear tires

•  Incorrect ABS wheel-speed signal is input to DSC HU/CM

4	ABS or TCS^1 operates frequently/ TCS does not work correctly ^1: DSC system function contains traction control function, DSC indicator light goes on and off while DSC is operating
POSSIBLE CAUSE	• DSC HU/CM DTC is stored ― There is a malfunction in the engine control system (TCS malfunction) • Tire size or tire pressure malfunction ― There is a difference in size or air pressure between the front and rear tires • Incorrect ABS wheel-speed signal is input to DSC HU/CM

Diagnostic procedure

STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	INSPECT DSC HU/CM DTC • Perform the Reading DTCs Procedure. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSIS [DYNAMIC STABILITY CONTROL (DSC)].) • Are any DTC present?	Yes	Go to the appropriate DTC inspection. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSIS [DYNAMIC STABILITY CONTROL (DSC)].)
1		No	Go to the next step.
2	INSPECT TIRE SIZE AND TIRE PRESSURE • Inspect the tire size and the tire pressure. (See WHEEL AND TIRE SPECIFICATION.) • Is there any malfunction?	Yes	Replace with specified tires and adjust tire pressure. (See TIRE PRESSURE ADJUSTMENT (WITH TPMS).)
2		No	Go to the next step.
3	INSPECT PID FOR ABNORMAL OUTPUT FROM ABS WHEEL-SPEED SENSOR USING M-MDS • Turn the ignition switch off. • Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2. • Perform the PID/Data Monitor and Record Procedure and access the following PIDs: (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSIS [DYNAMIC STABILITY CONTROL (DSC)].) ― LF_WSPD (LF ABS wheel-speed sensor) ― LR_WSPD (LR ABS wheel-speed sensor) ― RF_WSPD (RF ABS wheel-speed sensor) ― RR_WSPD (RR ABS wheel-speed sensor) • Start the engine and drive the vehicle. • Verify that the PIDs of the four ABS wheel-speed sensors correspond approximately. • Do the vehicle speeds correspond?	Yes	Perform the “Intermittent Concern Troubleshooting”. (See PRECAUTION [DYNAMIC STABILITY CONTROL (DSC)].)
3		No	ABS wheel-speed sensor installation inspection: • Inspect the ABS wheel-speed sensor for looseness and verify that it is securely installed. Sensor rotor installation inspection: • Inspect the ABS wheel-speed sensor rotor for poor installation and chipping of sensor rotor teeth. (If sensor rotor is installed poorly, it may cause output of abnormal wave form at high speed.) Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the inspection results.
