•  The active bonnet actuators are installed near the bonnet hinges on the inside of the engine compartment.

Operation

1.  When the deployment signal is sent to the active bonnet actuators from the active bonnet control module, the gas generator is ignited and gas is produced.

2.  The piston inside the cylinder is pushed upward by the gas pressure.

3.  Once the piston is raised completely, the stopper prevents the piston from moving back down.
