ACTIVE BONNET SENSOR WIRING HARNESS REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Warning

•  Handling the active bonnet sensor improperly can cause it to accidentally operate, which could lead to serious injury. Read the service warnings and cautions before handling the active bonnet sensor. (See ACTIVE BONNET SERVICE WARNINGS.) (See ACTIVE BONNET SERVICE CAUTIONS.)

1.  Switch the ignition to LOCK.

2.  Remove the battery cover.

3.  Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for 1 min or more. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L8, LF].)

4.  Remove the front bumper. (See FRONT BUMPER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

5.  Disconnect the wiring harness clips.

6.  Disconnect the active bonnet sensor connectors. (See ACTIVE BONNET SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

7.  Remove the bolt and ground.

Caution

•  The ground prevents incorrect deployment of the active bonnet sensor and radio noise. When installing the active bonnet sensor wiring harness, securely install the ground to the bumper retainer.

8.  Remove the active bonnet sensor wiring harness.

9.  Install in the reverse order of removal.
