Purpose/Function

• The oil pressure switch detects the engine oil pressure.

Construction

• The oil pressure switch is located on the engine oil solenoid valve.

• A diaphragm has been adopted for the detection area of the oil pressure switch.

• When pressure is applied from the pressure induction port, the diaphragm bends and the contact point switches to off.

Operation

1. When engine oil pressure is applied, the oil pressure switch switches to off (1).

2. When the oil pressure switch is off, the PCM detects (2) an oil pressure switch off signal.
