KNOCK SENSOR (KS) INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-G 1.5, SKYACTIV-G 2.0]

Resistance Inspection

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the following parts:

(1)  Seal cover (See SEAL COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 1.5, SKYACTIV-G 2.0].)

(2)  Front suspension tower bar (Vehicles with front suspension tower bar) (See FRONT SUSPENSION TOWER BAR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(3)  Intake manifold (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 1.5, SKYACTIV-G 2.0].)

3.  Disconnect the KS connector.

4.  Remove the bolt. (See KNOCK SENSOR (KS) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 1.5, SKYACTIV-G 2.0].)

5.  Remove the KS. (See KNOCK SENSOR (KS) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 1.5, SKYACTIV-G 2.0].)

6.  Measure the resistance between KS terminals A and B.

•  If not as specified, replace the KS. (See KNOCK SENSOR (KS) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 1.5, SKYACTIV-G 2.0].)
