Shift point is high or low

DESCRIPTION

•  Shift point considerably different from automatic shift diagram.

•  Shift delays when accelerating.

•  Shift occurs suddenly when accelerating and engine speed does not increase.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

•  If the transmission does not shift abnormally, there is a malfunction of the input signal to the APP sensor, turbine sensor, or VSS.

•  If the engine speed is high or low, regardless of normal shifting, inspect the tachometer.

•  Verify that the output signals of the APP sensor change linearly.

Note

•  If a tire of a different diameter from the standard tire is installed, the TCM determines that the driving mode is the AAS mode, and may change to a different shift timing from the normal timing.
