TRANSMISSION OIL REPLACEMENT [M66M-D]

1.  Park the vehicle on level ground.

2.  Remove the center under cover. (With center under cover) (See CENTER UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Remove the plate. (With plate) (See PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Remove the member bracket. (With member bracket)

5.  Remove the drain plug and gasket, and drain the manual transmission oil.

6.  Install a new gasket and the drain plug.

Tightening torque
39—59 N·m {4.0—6.0 kgf·m, 29—43 ft·lbf}

7.  Remove the oil level plug and gasket.

8.  Add the specified amount of manual transmission oil through the oil level plug hole.

Mazda Original Long Life Gear Oil IS*1
2.0 L {2.1 US qt, 1.8 Imp qt}

*1  :Mazda Original Long Life Gear Oil IS is superior oil for optimum shift-feel. Using Mazda Original Long Life Gear Oil IS is recommended. If Mazda Original Long Life Gear Oil IS cannot be obtained, use standard oil (API Service GL-4 (SAE 75W-90)). However, shifting in very low temperatures may become difficult.

9.  Install a new gasket and the oil level plug.

Tightening torque
40—59 N·m {4.1—6.0 kgf·m, 30—43 ft·lbf}

10.  Install the member bracket. (With member bracket)

11.  Install the plate. (With plate) (See PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

12.  Install the center under cover. (With center under cover) (See CENTER UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
