DTC	U0423:00	Signal error from instrument cluster
DETECTION CONDITION		•  Error detected in signal from instrument cluster via CAN communication.
FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION		•  Refer to “Fail-safe function table”. (See DTC TABLE [EPS CONTROL MODULE].)
POSSIBLE CAUSE		•  Instrument cluster malfunction

Diagnostic Procedure

Step	Inspection		Action
1	VERIFY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DTC •  Using the M-MDS, perform the instrument cluster DTC inspection. (See DTC INSPECTION [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER].) •  Are any DTCs present?	Yes	Go to the applicable DTC inspection. (See DTC TABLE [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER].) DTC troubleshooting completed, then go to the next step.
		No	Go to the next step.
2	VERIFY DTC TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED •  Using the M-MDS, clear the DTC from the DSC HU/CM. (See CLEARING DTC [EPS CONTROL MODULE].) •  Using the M-MDS, perform the DSC HU/CM DTC inspection. (See DTC INSPECTION [EPS CONTROL MODULE].) •  Is the same Pending DTC present?	Yes	Repeat the inspection from Step1. If the malfunction recurs, replace the instrument cluster, then go to the next step. (See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
		No	Go to the next step.
3	VERIFY NO DTC IS PRESENT •  Are any DTCs present?	Yes	Go to the applicable DTC inspection. (See DTC TABLE [EPS CONTROL MODULE].)
		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
