Purpose, Function

• The occupancy sensor detects weight on the seat area of the passenger's seat cushion.

Construction

• The occupancy sensor is integrated with the passenger's seat cushion.

• The occupancy sensor includes 8 pressure sensors. (With standard type / sports type (RECARO) (except Australian specs.)

• The occupancy sensor includes 12 pressure sensors. (With sports type (RECARO) (Australian specs.)

Operation

Standard type / sports type (RECARO) (except Australian specs.)

1. When an occupant sits (1) on the passenger's seat, the pressure sensor turns on (contact point: Closed) (2).

2. When the pressure sensor turns on, a ground circuit is established (3).

3. When a ground circuit is established, the SAS control module detects (4) an occupant on the passenger's seat.

Note

• Among the eight pressure sensors, if one or more of sensors A and B are on (contact point: Closed), the SAS control module detects an occupant on the front passenger's seat.

Sports type (RECARO) (Australian specs.)

1. When an occupant sits (1) on the passenger's seat, the pressure sensor turns on (contact point: Closed) (2).

2. When the pressure sensor turns on, a ground circuit is established (3).

3. When a ground circuit is established, the SAS control module detects (4) an occupant on the passenger's seat.
