Outline

•  A trunk lid opener system has been adopted in which the trunk lid can be opened just by pressing the trunk lid opener switch.

Function

•  The BCM operates the trunk lid release actuator and opens the trunk lid based on the trunk lid opener switch signal.

Operation


Trunk lid opener switch (exterior) open operation (With trunk lid opener switch (exterior))

When the BCM detects the trunk lid opener switch on signal with the door lock-link switch (driver's side) unlock signal (driver's door lock unlocked) detected and the theft-deterrent system is not operating with any of the following conditions met, it opens the trunk lid.
Operation condition
―  Vehicle speed is 3 km/h {2 mph} or less
―  Ignition switched OFF


Open operation

1.  When the trunk lid opener switch is pressed, it turns on (1).

2.   When the BCM detects the trunk lid opener switch on signal with the trunk lid opener system operation conditions met, it sends (2) a trunk lid release signal to the electrical supply unit (ESU).

3.  When the electrical supply unit (ESU) receives the trunk lid release signal, it turns the transistor on (3) and the trunk lid release relay on (4).

4.  When the trunk lid release relay turns on, the trunk lid release actuator operates (5).

5.  When the trunk lid release actuator operates, the latch lever is released to open the trunk lid.

When the BCM receives a trunk lid opener switch on signal with the theft-deterrent system not activated and any of the following conditions met, it opens the trunk lid.
Operation condition
―  Vehicle speed is 3 km/h {2 mph} or less
―  Ignition switched OFF


Open operation

1.  When the trunk lid opener switch is pressed, it turns on (1).

2.   When the BCM detects the trunk lid opener switch on signal with the trunk lid opener system operation conditions met, it sends (2) a trunk lid release signal to the electrical supply unit (ESU).

3.  When the electrical supply unit (ESU) receives the trunk lid release signal, it turns the transistor on (3) and the trunk lid release relay on (4).

4.  When the trunk lid release relay turns on, the trunk lid release actuator operates (5).

5.  When the trunk lid release actuator operates, the latch lever is released to open the trunk lid.
