UNDER COVER AERODYNAMIC PERFORMANCE
id091600010500
Purpose
• Under covers and deflectors have been adopted to straighten the wind flow along the underside of the vehicle.
Function, Construction
• A deflector is equipped in front of each tire to straighten the wind flow passing around the tire and alongside the vehicle.
• By equipping the under covers to the uneven areas on the underside of the vehicle, the underside of the vehicle becomes flat and the wind flow is straightened.
Front under cover/front crossmember under cover/plate
-
• Prevents wind flow into the engine compartment, allowing it to flow straight back to the rear of the vehicle.
Front deflector/rear deflector
-
• Prevents wind flow into the tire housings and straightens wind flow away from the body side, allowing it to flow to the rear of the vehicle.
• Front and rear tire deflectors prevent the wind flow from hitting the rotating tires to reduce aerodynamic drag.
Center under cover
-
• Straightens wind flow under the floor.
Floor under cover
-
• Prevents wind flow from swirling between the floor and the fuel tank, allowing it to flow to the rear of the vehicle.
Fail-safe
• Not applicable
