LOW WASHER FLUID LEVEL WARNING LIGHT

Purpose

• The low washer fluid level warning light notifies the driver that the remaining washer fluid level in the washer tank is low.

Function

• When the instrument cluster receives the low washer fluid level warning light illumination request signal sent from the BCM via CAN communication, it turns the low washer fluid level warning light on.

Construction

• The low washer fluid level warning light is built into the instrument cluster.

Operation

1. When the washer fluid level in the washer tank decreases, the BCM detects (1) a washer fluid-level sensor on signal.

2. The BCM sends (2) a low washer fluid level warning light on request signal to the instrument cluster via CAN communication based on the washer fluid-level sensor on signal.

3. The instrument cluster turns the transistor on (3) based on the low washer fluid level warning light on request signal.

4. When the transistor turns on, a ground circuit with the low washer fluid level warning light is established, and the low washer fluid level warning light turns on (4).
