Purpose, Function

• The cooling fan relay operates by receiving the signal from the PCM to supply power to the fan control module.

Construction

• The cooling fan relay is located on the relay and fuse block.

• A normally open relay has been adopted for the cooling fan relay.

• When electric current flows to the coil, the contact point is attracted by the generated electromagnetic power and switches on.

Operation

1. Electric current flows (1) to the cooling fan relay coil based on the signals from the PCM.

2. When electric current flows to the coil, the contact point is attracted by the generated electromagnetic power and switches on (2).

3. When the contact point switches on, battery power is supplied (3) to the fan control module.
