Outline

• To achieve an engine with a high compression ratio, 4-2-1 type exhaust pipes have been adopted for the exhaust manifold and residual exhaust gas in each cylinder is prevented.

• By integrating the exhaust manifold and the catalytic converter (WU-TWC), the distance from the combustion chamber to the catalytic converter has been shortened. Because the high temperature exhaust gas passes the catalytic converter, quick warming (activation) of the catalytic converter has been enabled and the purification rate of the exhaust gas has been enhanced.
